During the weekend...

Well, it seems like the official start of summer has been marked as we flew through the Memorial Day (long) weekend.  And today, as I sit down at my desk, I think to myself, "hmmm, it's summer".  Yes I know that the actual season change into summer isn't for a few more weeks but come on....teachers are out of school, the summer temperatures (at least here in Memphis) have spiked to nearly 100 and the pool is open! All of that equals, summer.

In the midst of thinking about the fact that summer has arrived, I also did  mental check list of what I did over the long weekend.  Really, it should have been a check list of what I didn't get done over the holiday weekend. Unless I can list naps, snacks and treats and things, hanging out with the hubbs and the kitty, and doing 1 (yes, only 1) complete load of laundry, I'm out of luck on said list.

So while I was super busy doing nothing over the holiday weekend, our friend Bryn from Isabella in Charlotte, North Carolina was busy doing all kinds of things like installing a Worlds Away Venus fixture in her entry way.

Is that great of what?  Totally great.  It makes me want to rush home tonight after work and reconfigure my own entry way!  Isn't design fantastic.

So...Shout out to Bryn and Isabella for posting about our Venus Fixture!

Happy Summer, kids!

mirror, mirror, on the wall...

So the saying goes, "Magic Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" We all know that it is said by the Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs circa 1937.  As it were in the famous Disney movie, the mirror was an actual character in the movie. It had lines, provided inspiration, and insight.

In the story of your life, you know...the one where you look at yourself at least 23,123 times per day....what mirror have you cast in this leading roll?

Today I'm dreaming of a dapper, shiny, white, lacquer, bit of elegance to wish me well as I depart for a hard day of work.
At today's audition, let me introduce...

The Vero.
This beautiful mirror is 42.5h-31.5w-1.5d.
Gwyneth Paltrow has cast this beauty as a character in her life! Shall we be like Gwyneth?

The Malobar
This mirror could be best type cast as serious, dramatic, polished, reserved...
and probably as a good dancer.
38.5h-36w-1.5d

And..last but certinally not least, if you're looking for a little kick to inspire your hair style, your scarf selection, or your swanky swagger as you parade out the door, you should consider Rococo.

Working Away @ Worlds Away

Things are progressing nicely at our new location on S. Hollywood.

In the past 6 weeks our building has been painted, new signage has gone up and more has been ordered, new exterior lighting has gone up, and the parking lot is cleaned up.
All in all...I'd say there's no moss gathering over here on Hollywood.

Furniture pieces are rolling out of here like wildfire.  I'd make mention of the rolling river, but obviously this is not the week to talk about what's happening with the Mississippi River in Memphis (insert obvious frown).

New pieces in the outlet (as of last week), the family of Wangrights.  Don't they just scream from the top of their lungs, "I'M SO MUCH FUN?!"

The problem we face is not where to put it, not will it match the rest of our furniture, not is it the right size, but... which color do we get. This piecse is way to fabulous to not have one, or all 5!

Memphis in May...at our doorstep

Did you just say....."YUUUUMMMMM"?

Yes, that's what most folks do in Shelby County, Tennessee come mid May every year.

They strap on the feed bag and chant in unison, or in
parts, just like a finely tuned choir....."YUUUMMM"!

In less than 10 days, the internationally known Memphis in May BBQ Festival will begin.

For the past basquillion years the festival has been corraled in downtown Memphis at Tom Lee Park on the river...the mighty Mississippi.  This year....first the first time...hmmm...maybe EVER the festival has been moved to the newly decorated Tiger Lane due to the roaring hight of said river. FORTY-FIVE FEET! Yes kids, that's a lot of water, and all that goes with it!

As a result, this is where the BBQ Fest 2011 will be. Amongst the newly planned and planted University of Memphis Tiger Lane at The Liberty Bowl .
Do you see that big stadium in the back? See it? Yeah the big tall "thing" in th back.
As I mentioned it before, that's The Liberty Bowl...and guess what!?!

It is right across the street from our new building on S. Hollywood.

As we settle in to our new buildilng, thusly high stepping around our new floorplan, painting our new building and getting things organized, everything has been put into HIGH DRIVE as we prepare to have [practically] the world at our doorstep...And in our parking lot for that matter!

Let the BBQ begin!
